Several species of turtles living for over 100 years been swimming the length and breadth of the surrounding seas while returning annually to lay their eggs on the beach shores of this location. Our unique design strategy aims to connect visitors to this natural phenomenon, while respecting the fragile ecosystem. Green technologies and a careful selection of local materials are used in order to respect, and protect the turtle’s original habitat.
This mixed use development is aimed at educating its inhabitants and visitors to the importance of the threatened turtle and general sea life by offering oceanic opportunities such as kite surfing, diving, snorkeling, dolphin/turtle/ whale watching and fishing on local Omani boats. The organic design maximizes views and reflects its surroundings. Highlights include exquisite seafood restaurants and a centrally located turtle museum.
